John Knowles, CGP, Fingerstyle Workshop in Austin
John Knowles CGP, composer, arranger, performer, and Thumbpicker Hall of Fame double inductee will be in Austin, Texas on April 12 to conduct an all-day (and into the evening) workshop for fingerstyle guitar players. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy a full day of instruction in an intimate setting with one of the worlds preeminent guitar instructors. Enrollment is limited to 12 students so John can spend plenty of time with each individual. For complete information and registration go to www.texasfingerstyleguitarworkshops.com We are also looking to create a list of all the folks in Texas and neighboring states who want to be kept informed of fingerstyle guitar events in the area, like workshops, concerts (on-line and off-line), festivals, and club meetings. Check out http://www.ooVoo.com and let me know if you think it would be a good place to share licks. You will need a web camera and a high speed internet connection. It is simular to MSN Messenger but the video is much better and the audio is hands-free. Up to 6 people can use it at the same time and you can see and hear everyone at once. You will need an ID and a password to use it, my ID is Cyberguy. I used it to show one of the guys how I play "Georgia On My Mind" and it worked fine so it might be a useful tool to pass licks around.
